Cameron Wake received good news on the injury front Monday. The Miami Dolphins pass rusher reportedly has just a "mild" MCL sprain, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports. Wake left Sunday's win over the Atlanta Falcons with a knee injury in the first half and did not return.
Cameron Wake injury: Dolphins DE has ‘mild’ MCL sprain
Cameron Wake reportedly has a “mild” MCL sprain, meaning that the Dolphins pass rusher may return to the field much sooner than initially feared.

Though Wake was able to return to the sideline, La Canfora's report confirms that the injury is not as bad as initially feared. Wake has not missed a game since 2009, and according to La Canfora there is still a good chance that Wake will suit up in Week 4 against the New Orleans Saints. Wake may miss practice time, but a Monday night kickoff will give him an extra day to recover.
Wake is off to a good start this season, with 2.5 sacks registered in his first two games. He is coming off a 15-sack season in 2012. If Wake is forced to sit, Derrick Shelby would likely become the Dolphins' every-down outside linebacker. Rookie Dion Jordan would also likely play an extended role.
