Raiders vs. Broncos 2013 final score: Denver improves to 3-0 with 37-21 win

Peyton Manning and the Broncos continued to impress and are now 3-0.

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

The Denver Broncos improved to 3-0 on the season with an impressive 37-21 win against the Oakland Raiders. Denver led nearly the entire game, scoring on its first offensive possession, and never looked back.

Like he has all season, Peyton Manning led the way for the Broncos. Denver scored on six of its first seven possessions, including touchdowns on three of its first five drives. Manning threw three more touchdown passes, setting an NFL record for the most touchdown passes through the first three games of a season.

The Broncos didn’t score a point during the first quarter in either of the first two games of the season. That quickly changed against Oakland with Manning leading an eight-play, 55-yard touchdown drive on Denver’s first offensive possession. The Broncos added two more touchdowns and a pair of field goals in the first half and led, 27-7, at halftime.

Eric Decker, Demaryius Thomas and Wes Welker continued to have success. The three combined for 25 receptions, 311 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Although they failed to keep pace with the Broncos, the Raiders also had some success offensively. Terrelle Pryor completed 19-of-28 passes for 281 yards before leaving the game late in the fourth quarter. He and Denarius Moore combined for a 73-yard touchdown to get Oakland on the board in the second quarter.

Pryor also picked up 36 yards on four rushing attempts. He was the only Raider able to find any running room. Darren McFadden carried 12 times, but gained just 9 yards on the ground.

With the win, Denver has now won 14 straight regular season games.

Fantasy studs and duds

Manning was once again a fantasy stud, throwing for 374 yards and three touchdowns. Decker had a huge game catching passes from Manning, finishing with eight catches for 133 yards and a touchdown. Welker and Julius Thomas also got into the end zone.

Darren McFadden wasn’t able to do much of anything on the ground, rushing for 9 yards on 12 carries. He did, however, throw a touchdown and run in a 1-yard score late in the game.

Injury report

Denver's secondary took a hit with cornerback Tony Carter and safety Duke Ihenacho leaving the game due to injury. Both players suffered ankle injuries.

Pryor left the game late in the fourth quarter and was diagnosed with a concussion.

Did they cover?

Denver went into the game as a 16.5-point favorite, according to OddsShark. The Broncos were unable to cover the spread due to a late Oakland touchdown.
