Raiders vs. Broncos 2013: Denver ‘outclassed’ Oakland on Monday Night Football

The Denver Broncos didn’t have much problem defeating the Oakland Raiders in Week 3 and likely could have earned an even wider margin of victory.

The Denver Broncos, once again, had very little problem earning a victory, this time defeating the Oakland Raiders by a 37-21 score on Monday Night Football. On the back of 374 yards passing and three touchdowns from Peyton Manning, the Broncos led for all but the first three minutes and could have earned an even larger margin victory had it not been for late touchdowns.

Simply put, the Broncos outclassed the Raiders.

After the game, Levi Damien of SB Nation’s Raiders blog, Silver And Black Pride, offered the following analysis of a game that wasn’t too hard to figure out:

The final score of 37-21 makes things look a bit better than they actually were. The turnovers and the scores were a refreshing sight for a team which didn’t have any turnovers coming into the game but it was too little, too late for the Raiders who were down by 23 points early and didn’t actually close the gap until the waning seconds of the game.
The Broncos simply outclassed the Raiders. The Broncos have a course set for a Super Bowl run while the Raiders are in full on rebuilding mode.

Kyle Montgomery of SB Nation’s Broncos blog, Mile High Report, offered up a similar take on the final result:

The Raiders were more thoroughly beaten than the score suggests -- a few turnovers late, including a lost fumble by Montee Ball and a strip sack on Peyton Manning, made things mildly interesting late in the game (just enough to keep Brock Osweiler seated on the sideline). Terrelle Pryor also had some shining moments, but they weren't bright enough to make the Broncos pay for their turnovers. The Broncos must look to shore up those mistakes as they continue this season; teams are gunning for them, and some upcoming teams like the Indianapolis Colts will take better advantage of those Denver miscues than the Raiders were able to.

The Broncos will stay at home in Week 4 where they will host the Philadelphia Eagles, while the Raiders will head back home to host the Washington Redskins.
