Seahawks vs. Texans, NFL odds 2013: Seattle favored in tough road game

The Seattle Seahawks face one of the toughest road games of the season, but are favored to win by oddsmakers.

Steve Dykes

The Seattle Seahawks will face a tough test in Week 4 when they visit the Houston Texans. Seattle dominated the NFC West rival San Francisco 49ers in Week 2, and made short work of the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars the following week, but this game against Houston is on the road and it promises to be a tough one.

However, Seattle might be the best team in the NFL, and even on the road against one of the AFC’s best, it is favored to win. The Seahawks opened as 2-point favorites, according to OddsShark. The line has moved slightly in their favor as the week has progressed, and they can be had as 3-point favorites on some books.

Home-field advantage is usually good for a 3- or 4-point swing, meaning the Seahawks are definitely considered the better team by oddsmakers. The over/under for the game is set right around 43 points. OddsShark has some notable stats regarding this, as the total has gone under in four of Seattle’s last six games, but over in five of Seattle’s last seven road games. Additionally, it has gone under in four of Houston’s last six games at home.

The two teams will meet on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 1 p.m. ET on FOX.
