Terrelle Pryor injury: Raiders QB cleared to practice

Pryor left Monday’s game early with a concussion but has been cleared for limited practice as the Raiders prepare to face the Redskins.

Doug Pensinger

Oakland Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor has been cleared to practice, according to Silver and Black Pride's Levi Damien. Pryor suffered a concussion late in Oakland's 37-21 loss to the Denver Broncos on Monday night and was replaced by backup Matt Flynn to end the game. Damien noted that Pryor only did light work on Thursday and that Flynn is still practicing with the first-team offense.

Silver and Black Pride: POLL: Pryor or Flynn?

Pryor beat out Flynn in a preseason competition and has played effectively during the Raiders’ 1-2 start, completing 65.4 percent of his passes for 624 yards, two touchdowns, two interceptions and 198 rushing yards. His 7.6 yards per carry is tops in the NFL among qualified players. Flynn was acquired from Seattle with the anticipation that he would be the starter, but Pryor outperformed him during the preseason and took an even bigger lead in the race when Flynn missed time due to injury and arm fatigue.

The Raiders take on the Redskins on Sunday. Washington is 31st in the NFL in pass defense and could provide an excellent opportunity for whoever gets the start for Oakland.
