San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Quinton Patton left Thursday night's game against the St. Louis Rams with an apparent foot injury.

Patton was tackled on a routine catch at the end of the first quarter before receiving a sideline examination from trainers. A short while later, he headed off to the locker room, and he’s listed as questionable to return.

The 49ers struggled to move the ball early against an aggressive St. Louis defense, but since found gaps in the defense resulting in the first touchdown of the game. Colin Kaepernick has been sacked once and pressured multiple times.

Patton was expected to assist the passing game while Michael Crabtree recovers from injury, but he's failed to catch a pass in the first three games of his career. The team will need a big performance from Frank Gore, who's off to a fine start with 51 yards on five carries.
