Patriots injuries: Rob Gronkowski, Danny Amendola expected to play Sunday, per report

The Patriots will likely see the return of two of their most valued offensive weapons in Week 4.

Kevin Hoffman-USA TODAY Sports

The New England Patriots could see the return of a pair of offensive weapons on Sunday night. Both Rob Gronkowski and Danny Amendola are expected to be ready for Week 4, according to Ben Volin of the Boston Globe.

The Patriots offense has missed them.

Through three games in 2013, the Patriots have attempted the fifth most passes in the NFL, but rank No. 22 in passing yardage. Quarterback Tom Brady has never finished a season with a completion percentage lower than 60, but has started the season by completing just 57.5 percent of his passes.

Gronkowski has caught 38 career touchdowns since he was drafted in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft, but hasn't made his 2013 debut after undergoing forearm and back surgeries during the offseason. Amendola caught 10 passes for 104 yards in his first game with the Patriots after joining the team as a free agent in the offseason, but suffered a groin injury that kept him from playing in the following two games.

The Patriots are scheduled to kickoff against the Atlanta Falcons in a Sunday Night Football matchup.
