Vincent Jackson injury: Buccaneers WR questionable in Week 4

The Buccaneers may sit wide receiver Vincent Jackson against the Cardinals, despite his ability to play with a rib injury.

The Buccaneers are weighing their options regarding starting wide receiver Vincent Jackson, as they prepare to host the Cardinals in Week 4. Tampa Bay may hold the veteran out of the game to rest his rib injury, despite Jackson's willingness to play against Arizona, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Jackson's two injured ribs are expected to take at least five weeks to heal, but the wide receiver is debating whether or not to use a pain-killing shot to participate in the game on Sunday, according to Rapoport. The benefit of keeping Jackson on the sideline is that the Buccaneers have bye in Week 5 and sitting him would give the veteran an extra week to recover. The downside is that rookie quarterback Mike Glennon will not have as many reliable options on offense in the first regular season game of his career.

Jackson is likely to be a true game-time decision. The Buccaneers host the Cardinals at 1 p.m. on FOX.
