Benched Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman wants out of Tampa Bay and some options may surface as the NFL gets closer to the trade deadline. For opposing general managers in the NFL, the Packers seem to be an "intriguing option" for Freeman and the Bucs to part ways, according to NFL Network's Michael Silver (via Ian Rapoport).
Josh Freeman trade rumors: Packers make ‘intriguing option’ for Bucs QB
Opposing general managers believe that Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman could be an option for Green Bay.

Silver reported the league's collective opinion on Sunday morning during NFL Gameday on NFL Network. Per Silver, the Packers could use an upgrade at backup quarterback after testing out Vince Young this summer and settling for veteran Seneca Wallace, who was out of the league last season.
Freeman, at the very least, would be a major upgrade over Wallace. The five-year veteran has started 59 games during his career and thrown 80 touchdowns. His contract expires this summer and he will likely look for a starting opportunity in free agency. The NFL trade deadline is Oct. 29.
