Blaine Gabbert throws 2 early INTs vs. Colts

New week, same result for Blaine Gabbert

Blaine Gabbert took back his starting job this week as he recovered from a hand injury, and the third-year quarterback hasn't done much to reward the decision by Jacksonville's coaching staff.

With just over 10 minutes remaining in the first half Gabbert had completed 3-8 passing for 31 yards, two interceptions (including one returned for a touchdown), while posting a quarterback rating of 9.9. The Jaguars' leading receiver is Cecil Shorts, who has 26 of Gabbert's 31 yards.

The lack of run support isn't helping the team's passing game. Maurice Jones-Drew has been ineffective against the Indianapolis Colts' defensive front, running for just 17 yards on seven carries. The Colts aren't respecting the run, which is turning this into a passing game with a quarterback with poor decision making.

On most Sundays this would be a Colts beat-down, but Andrew Luck is having passing struggles of his own, which has led to just a seven point lead by Indianapolis. Luck has 67 yards on 16 attempts, including an interception of his own.
