The New York Giants have placed running back Andre Brown on the injured reserve/designated to return list. The team may also be shopping around for a veteran running back. Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News reports that the Giants have called the agents of free agents Ryan Grant and Kevin Smith. The team may also be taking a look at Tim Hightower.
Andre Brown injury: Giants place RB on IR, search for replacements
The Giants are reportedly looking for veteran help at running back after placing Andre Brown on the injured reserve/designated to return list.

No visits have been scheduled at this time and the team may not make any signing until Week 2, but the Giants are looking for help on the depth chart after losing Andre Brown to a fractured leg. Under the "designated to return" tag, Brown will be eligible to play in 2013, but he won't be allowed to practice for the first six weeks and is unable to come back until at least Week 9.
With Brown out for half of the season, David Wilson is expected to play every down. The team was planning to rotate Brown in on passing downs before losing him to injury. Michael Cox and Da'Rel Scott are the only other running backs on the depth chart.
