The NFC West was dealt several heavy blows on the injury front this past weekend, though none as scary as Michael Bennett's back injury during the Seattle Seahawks' win over the Houston Texans. More on that injury, as well as others, below:
NFL injury report, Week 4: NFC West banged up after weekend
The four teams in the NFC West were unable to make it through Week 4 without serious injuries. Topping the list are Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett and Rams rookie safety T.J. McDonald.

Linebacker Jasper Brinkley and left guard left Sunday's win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with leg injuries. Defensive lineman Darnell Dockett was also hurt. The Cardinals have yet to officially comment on the injuries.
The 49ers suffered two significant injuries during Thursday night's win over the Rams. Left tackle Joe Staley appeared to suffer what could have been a serious knee injury late in the fourth quarter, though thankfully he seemed to be okay after stopping in to the X-ray room. Rookie wide receiver Quinton Patton could miss extended playing after suffering a broken foot, however.
Seattle Seahawks
Defensive end Michael Bennett had to be taken off the field in a stretcher during the second quarter after suffering a scary back injury against the Texans. Bennett laid face down on the turf for several minutes after the play, but thankfully it was reported later that he had feeling in all of his extremities at the hospital. Head coach Pete Carroll called the injury a “strained muscle in his back.”
The Rams suffered one long-term injury loss during Thursday's loss to the 49ers, and it's potentially a big one. Rookie safety T.J. McDonald was placed on injured reserve and designated for return after suffering a broken leg. He will not be able to practice with the team for six weeks, and will not be able to play for eight weeks. On the upside, it is encouraging that he should be able to return to play this season.
