New concussion lawsuit filed against NFL, Riddell by 4 former players

Just when one lawsuit came to an end, another starts for the NFL.

After settling a concussion-based lawsuit for $765 millions dollars last week, the National Football League will have to defend itself again.

Four more former NFL players and three of their wives are suing the NFL and Riddell, the helmet-making company, according to NESN.com. The players say they have suffered due to repeated blows to the head during their time in the league. The four players named as plaintiffs in the suit are Jimmy Williams, Rich Mauti, Jimmy Keyes and Nolan Franz.

Mauti played seven seasons as a wide receiver and kick returner for the New Orleans Saints and Washington Redskins. Keyes played two seasons in 1968 and 1969 for the Miami Dolphins as a kicker, appearing in 17 contests. Franz suited up in 1986 for the Green Bay Packers, playing one game and making one catch for seven yards.

Williams played for a variety of teams including the Saints, Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, and Houston Texans.
