Danny Amendola injury: Patriots WR not concerned about groin

New England’s replacement for Wes Welker isn’t worried about his health.

New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola says he has no worries about his groin injury, according to ESPNBoston.com's Mike Reiss.

Amendola is listed on the Patriots injury report as limited in practice with a groin issue. However, the oft-injured and diminutive receiver isn't getting into any discussion about him possibly missing the season opener against the Buffalo Bills. Per the article:

“I’m sick of talking about it, I just want to go play, to be honest with you,” Amendola said. “I’m excited about getting out there. I’m just ready to go.”

Amendola, 27, has only played a 16-game season once in his four-year career in 2010 when he had career-highs in receptions (85), yards (689) and touchdowns (three). Over the past two years, Amendola has only played in 12 games including one game in 2011.

New England signed Amendola to replace Wes Welker, Tom Brady's favorite target over the past half-decade. Welker is now with the Denver Broncos, catching passes from another future Hall of Famer in Peyton Manning.

The Broncos and Patriots will square off in Week 12 on Nov. 24.
