Buccaneers vs. Jets inactives, Week 1: Darrelle Revis active for matchup with former team

Mark Sanchez and Quinton Coples are out for the injury-plagued Jets, though Kenrick Ellis will play.

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New York Jets have released their inactive lists in anticipation of their Week 1 matchup. As expected, the Jets will be without quarterback Mark Sanchez (shoulder) and outside linebacker Quinton Coples (ankle). Nose tackle Kenrick Ellis will play after being listed as questionable earlier this week. Wide receiver Santonio Holmes, who is nursing an injured foot, will also play.

Tampa Bay has managed to stay relatively healthy through the preseason. The Bucs will be without cornerback Rashaan Melvin, who injured his hamstring. Offensive guard Carl Nicks (foot) is out, as is fullback Erik Lorig (calf). Cornerback Darrelle Revis, who has been treating an injured ankle, is active.
