Wilson fought through a lack of offensive weapons and a flailing running game to finish with 320 passing yards and one touchdown. When the Panthers left the door open late, Wilson was happy to stroll through. A series of impressive plays led to a 43-yard touchdown pass to Jermaine Kearse late in the game, which secured a Seattle victory.
The story for the Panthers was offensive passivity. A tenuous lead at halftime caused offensive coordinator Mike Shula to call conservative plays that didn’t allow Steve Smith and Cam Newton to stretch the field. The Panthers’ quarterback was impressive in the first half, but vanished in the second, finishing with 125 passing yards and a touchdown.
Fantasy studs and duds
Newton had a terrible game from a fantasy perspective, finishing with only 163 all purpose yards and a touchdown.
Marshawn Lynch was unable to break through the Panthers' offensive line, managing just 47 rushing yards.
Injury report
The Carolina Panthers lost right guard Garry Williams in the first half with a leg injury, there has been no update on his status.
