Chris Harris injury: Broncos CB suffers torn ACL vs. Chargers, per report

The Broncos will likely replace Harris with Quentin Jammer and/or Champ Bailey.

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

The Denver Broncos are two wins away from being Super Bowl champions, but they will have to earn those wins without the contributions of starting cornerback Chris Harris, after he suffered a torn ACL in the team's victory over the San Diego Chargers on Sunday, according to Mike Klis of the Denver Post.

Harris, 24, was the full-time starter for the Broncos opposite Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, leading a Denver defense that has racked up plenty of injuries during the 2013 season. Von Miller, Kevin Vickerson, Rahim Moore and Derek Wolfe are all on injured reserve. The Broncos will likely have to rely on Quentin Jammer or Champ Bailey or possibly even rookie Kayvon Webster to fill in for Harris on the outside.

An undrafted free agent in 2011, Harris played in all 16 games as a rookie with four starts before taking over as a full-time starter in 2012. In 2013, Harris started in 15 of 16 games, tallying three interceptions and 13 passes defended during the regular season.

The Broncos defeated the Chargers on Sunday and will face the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET. The Patriots finished the regular season with the 10th-ranked pass offense, but relied heavily on a rushing attack led by LeGarrette Blount in a victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday.
