Minnesota is in need of an offensive coordinator, and the Vikings have one man in mind. The team has received permission from the Cleveland Browns to interview Norv Turner for their vacancy, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

The Vikings are wasting no time in trying to establish Mike Zimmer's staff after the head coach was hired early on Wednesday. The paths of Zimmer and Turner have not crossed, despite both having long-standing NFL careers. They were almost on the same staff in 1994 with the Dallas Cowboys, but Turner accepted a head coaching job in Washington just as Zimmer was making his NFL coaching debut, working with the team's defensive backs.
Turner has been in limbo inside the Browns organization since head coach Rob Chudzinski was fired on Dec. 29. He led a successful offense in 2013, but quarterback problems inside the Browns organization resulted in an unsuccessful 4-12 season.
Under Turner, the Browns finished 18th in total offense, but more importantly were 11th in passing offense despite the team’s quarterback struggles. It’s here where the Vikings stand to improve from 2013, when they finished 23rd in total passing offense.
