AFC Championship 2014 odds and lines: Patriots vs. Broncos
The Patriots finished the 2013 season 2-6 against the spread on the road and face the tough task of traveling to play the Broncos in Denver.

A high-scoring duel is expected between the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos on Sunday, and the line that once favored the hosting Broncos by as many as 6.5 points is slimming as the AFC Championship draws nearer. The line is now down to as low as 4 points in favor of Denver, although most sportsbooks have it set at 4.5 points, according to OddsShark.
The over/under for Sunday is set at 55 points, a full 16 points higher than the NFC Championship that is expected to feature defense instead. The Broncos' divisional round matchup against the Chargers also drew a 55 over/under, although the 24-17 final score was two touchdowns under the projected total.
While the Patriots have won all nine of their home games this season, including a 43-22 dismantling of the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday, they are an uninspiring 4-4 on the road. New England posted a 2-6 record against the spread away from home, while racking up a 7-2 record against the spread at home.
The two teams previously faced each other in Week 12, as the Patriots pulled out a 34-31 victory at home, thanks to a 31-yard field goal from Stephen Gostkowski in overtime.
