The Super Bowl matchup was set on Sunday with a pair of conference championship matchups that drew higher ratings than the games one year prior.

Both the NFC and AFC Championship games received higher ratings in 2014 than 2013.


The NFC Championship between the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers was the higher draw of the two, receiving a 31.0 rating, according to Showbuzz Daily. That's up 19 percent from the 26.1 rating that the 49ers and Atlanta Falcons received in 2013.
A victory for the Denver Broncos over the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship also drew a higher rating than 2013, with a 29.5 rating. That's 6 percent higher than the matchup between the Patriots and Baltimore Ravens a year earlier.
The two Super Bowl-bound teams had the most home support on Sunday, as Seattle had a 54.3 household rating for the NFC Championship and Denver had a 53.0 household rating for the AFC Championship.
The 2013 Super Bowl between the 49ers and Ravens earned a 48.1 overnight rating, up 1 percent from the ratings of the 2012 Super Bowl.
