Senior Bowl 2014: Game time, TV schedule, location and more

Some of the best college football players in the country will be on display once again at the Senior Bowl on Saturday.

Ethan Miller

While they've all played their final college football game, some of the best players in the country will don their college helmets one more time on Saturday for the Senior Bowl.

The annual all-star game is a chance for graduating seniors to showcase their skills in front of the NFL decision-makers. The week of practice leading up to the game can have a significant impact on a player’s draft stock and it all ends with the game on Saturday. As it usually is, the Senior Bowl will be played at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala. The game is scheduled to kick off at 4 p.m. ET and will be televised on NFL Network.

For an idea of how big an impact the week of practices and the Senior Bowl can have, you only have to look back to last season. Eric Fisher was a likely first-round pick last year, but an excellent Senior Bowl sent his stock skyrocketing and he wound up as the No. 1 overall pick. In total, 13 players selected No. 1 overall have participated in the Senior Bowl.

SB Nation’s Dan Kadar profiled some of the best players partaking in the 2014 Senior Bowl, and Fresno State quarterback Derek Carr, Minnesota defensive tackle Ra’Shede Hageman and Vanderbilt wide receiver Jordan Matthews are among the top players. It’s an especially big game for Carr:

The issue for Carr is his footwork, particularly in the face of pressure. In a practice setting, he should excel and that should be the expectation. If he doesn’t look like a star this week, he could plummet.
