Eric Wright unlikely to return to 49ers in 2014
The 49ers were reportedly unhappy with Eric Wright’s work ethic and may not bring him back for more than the veteran minimum.

Cornerback Eric Wright is expected to hit free agency after a disappointing 2013 season. The San Francisco 49ers are unlikely to bring him back for the 2014 season. If they do, it's believed it won't be for more than the veteran minimum.
The 49ers signed Wright in the offseason hoping to get a veteran boost to their injury-riddled secondary, but he was a complete nonfactor. Wright started the year on the reserve/NFI list and missed the first nine games of the season. His role was diminished down the stretch of the year and he was a healthy scratch for the NFC Championship Game. Wright finished the year with just seven tackles and an interception.
The 49ers have needs at the secondary position, but Wright is unlikely to be a part of those plans. Tarell Brown is an impending free agent and Carlos Rodgers is expected to be released, making Tremaine Brock the only lock to start in 2014. San Francisco could address the position in the NFL Draft.
