Chris Johnson played 2013 season with torn meniscus

The Titans running back played hurt all season and still managed to be highly productive.

Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson played the 2013 season with a torn meniscus in his knee and will have it fixed tomorrow, according to Jason La Confora.

Johnson was one of the better running backs this season, despite having such a tough injury for most of it. Johnson was a warrior, playing in all 16 games for the fifth consecutive season, rushing for 1,077 yards and six touchdowns.

In the first six years of his career, Johnson has rushed for at least 1,000 yards each season including his 2009 campaign of 2,006 yards.

Many believe Johnson will be a cap casualty this offseason, making this injury even more intriguing. Should he hit the open market, how much does a torn ligament in his knee affect his value? Considering he is going to be 29 in September, it could put a significant damper on his next deal.

Johnson’s current contract calls for him to make $10 million each of the next two seasons and nine million the following year.
