Super Bowl XLVIII: Queen Latifah will sing ‘America the Beautiful’
It will be the Grammy winner’s second time singing the song at a Super Bowl.


Grammy-winning recording artist Queen Latifah will sing "America the Beautiful" prior to kickoff of Super Bowl XLVIII, the NFL and FOX announced on Monday.
The performance will be televised live on FOX during its pregame coverage.
Queen Latifah, a New Jersey native, is the host of The Queen Latifah Show, a singer, actress, label president and author. In addition to her Grammy, she’s a Golden Globe winner and an Emmy and Academy Award nominee.
If you’re looking for a preview, you’re in luck. Here she is belting out “America the Beautiful” prior to Super Bowl XLIV.
Last year, it was Jennifer Hudson accompanied by children from Newtown, Conn., who handled the song. Other performers of the song during the Super Bowl include Vicki Carr, Ray Charles, Mary J. Blige and Marc Anthony, Alicia Keys, Faith Hill, Lea Michele, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert.
Opera singer Renee Fleming will handle the national anthem and Bruno Mars will perform at halftime.
