Creating a good game of Super Bowl squares is relatively simple, just follow our handy instructions.
1. Gather a group of like-minded individuals, preferably those who don’t hold grudges.
2. Print out a squares template and put the Denver Broncos on one axis and the Seattle Seahawks on the other.
3. Agree to a per-square fee and have everyone willing to play write their name in the squares.

4. Make sure they pony up the cash. This is your pot, after all.
5. Establish your pot sizes. Typically you want a relatively small pot for the first and third quarter, a larger one for halftime and the grand prize at the close of the game.
6. Write down numbers 0-9 on small slips of paper and shake them up in a bag, hat, or other concealing device.

8. At the close of each quarter pay attention to the final digits in the score. The person owning the square of those two numbers when the whistle blows wins the pot. For example: If the score is Denver 17, Seattle 14 then the person owning the Denver 7 and Seattle 4 square would win.
9. Have fun! It’s a game of pure randomness. Nothing will help you.

If you don’t have enough people to play or an office that frowns on betting in the workplace it might be the best idea to take you schemes online. There are sites that will host your own set of squares, or for the more adventurous public pools.
