The opening weekend of the NFL playoffs did not disappoint ... unless you're a Bengals, Chiefs, Eagles or Packers fan. Jones will test his value on the free agent market, according to Tyler Dunne of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and there’s no indication whether the Packers can retain the seven-year veteran.
The team's season was almost in ruin when Randall Cobb and Aaron Rodgers went down with injuries, but Jones quickly became a steadying force -- catching 59 passes for 817 yards in 14 games. Jones' breakout season in 2012 is still his high watermark, in which he caught 14 touchdowns. That should bring a lot of attention when for a receiver-needy team when the 29-year-old hits the market.
Green Bay remains strong at wide receiver, even if the team loses Jones. Jordy Nelson has one year remaining on an extension signed in 2011, while Cobb remains on a low-cost rookie contract that will continue well into the future.
