NFL Playoff odds 2014, Chargers vs. Broncos: Denver heavily favored
San Diego opened as nearly a double-digit underdog for its matchup with Denver.

The bad news for San Diego this week is the Chargers are nearly a double-digit underdog to Denver. The good news is San Diego upset the Broncos earlier this season with similar odds. Denver will host the Chargers on Sunday and the Broncos opened as a 9-point favorite, according to OddShark.com.
Denver opened as a 10-point favorite over San Diego in Week 15, but the Chargers came away with the 27-20 upset win. It was the Broncos' only home loss of the season. Denver went 5-3 at home against the spread this season. San Diego proved to be a solid road team and is 5-3-1 ATS on the road this year, including its upset win against the Bengals last week.
The two teams excelled down the stretch, both straight up and against the spread. San Diego is 5-0 in its last five games and 4-1 ATS during that span. Denver is also 4-1 ATS in its last five. The Chargers have fared extremely well ATS in Denver, going 6-3-1 in their last 10 games on the road against the Broncos. They are 4-1 straight up in their last five games at Denver.
A high-scoring game is expected with the total opening at 55 points, the highest of any of the divisional round games. The trends are mixed on whether the over or under is the better bet. The total has gone over in seven of Denver’s last nine home games and four of its last six at home against the Chargers. The total, however, has gone under in six San Diego’s last eight road games and nine of 13 overall.
