Carson Palmer ruled active, could return from nerve injury vs. Washington
Carson Palmer has been ruled active for Sunday’s game against Washington, but it’s unclear yet whether the Cardinals will start him.

Palmer injured his right throwing shoulder during the Cardinals’ 18-17 victory over the San Diego Chargers to open the season. It was not immediately clear that the quarterback suffered the nerve damage until the days following the injury. During Palmer’s absence, Arizona has run with journeyman signal caller Drew Stanton. Though the team has a 2-1 record during his starts, the eighth-year veteran has completed fewer than 50 percent of his passes while throwing only two touchdowns and averaging just over 6 yards per pass attempt.
Stanton’s struggles won’t be a concern if Palmer can return to the starting lineup. In his 17 starts for the Cardinals, Palmer has completed a respectable 63.4 percent of his passes for 4,578 yards and 26 touchdowns. With him at the controls, Arizona has an 11-6 record, averaging 23.4 points per game.
