After missing the playoffs each of the last two years, the Giants made significant changes to the coaching staff. Offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride was pushed into retirement, replaced by former Green Bay Packers quarterbacks coach Ben McAdoo. With his hiring came the West Coast offense, a scheme new to the Giants and quarterback Eli Manning. At least through five weeks, Manning's issues with accuracy and turnovers have dissipated.

In his first year in the West Coast offense, Eli Manning is completing 66.3 percent of his passes, the highest mark of his career. Running back Rashad Jennings was off to a similarly strong start (396 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 91 carries), but a knee injury will keep him off the field for multiple weeks. Though averaging just 3.1 yards per attempt on the year, replacement Andre Williams has developed a nose for the end zone, scoring two touchdowns in as many games.

As for the Eagles, their offense has regressed somewhat during Chip Kelly's second year. The drop off is in large part to the team's numerous injuries along the offensive line. All-Pro guard Evan Mathis, starting center Jason Kelce, and key reserve Allen Barbre have all been sidelined for various lengths of time. The good news for Philadelphia is Lane Johnson has returned from his PED suspension to shore things up at right tackle.

One of the biggest disappointments of the year has been the production of tailback LeSean McCoy. Averaging less than three yards an attempt, McCoy has been the prime victim of Philadelphia's depleted offensive line. Also suffering as a result is quarterback Nick Foles, who has thrown twice as many interceptions (five) as he had for the entirely of 2013.
