The New York Jets currently lead the Denver Broncos 7-3 in the first quarter of their game, thanks to a TD pass from Geno Smith to Jace Amaro. This in and of itself is not particularly meaningful: The Broncos are still widely considered the better team and might win in spite of this early lead.
Jets take lead for first time since Week 2, over three hours of game time
Cherish this moment, Jets. You never know how long it’ll be until your next lead.

However, for the Jets, it is. After winning Week 1 and taking a lead into halftime against the Packers, the Jets have not led since the third quarter of Week 2. Even teams that lose games sometimes take leads in games!
It’s now Week 6. New York went three full games without even leading -- not just losing, but not even taking a lead at any point -- and about a half of another game, combined between their Week 2 and Week 6 games. All told, it was 211 minutes and 31 seconds since a Randall Cobb TD against Green Bay, a span of time that lasted 26 days, 19 hours and 40 minutes.
Hold on, Jets. Hold on for dear life.
