The New England Patriots will be without running back Stevan Ridley for the remainder of the 2014 season after the fourth-year back was diagnosed with a torn ACL and MCL, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.
Stevan Ridley out for season with torn ACL, MCL, per report
Ridley suffered the injury in the third quarter of the Patriots’ victory over the Buffalo Bills.

Ridley, 25, suffered the injury on a low tackle in the third quarter of the team's 37-22 victory over the Buffalo Bills in Week 6, and he limped to the locker room with some assistance. He was quickly ruled out for the remainder of the game, and underwent an MRI on Monday that confirmed the significance of the injury.
A third-round selection in the 2011 NFL Draft, Ridley had a huge year in 2012 with 1,263 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns but hasn’t been as productive since then. He was off to a shaky start to the 2014 season with a career-low 3.6 yards per carry, but still led the team with 340 rushing yards.
With Ridley out of the lineup, the Patriots will presumably turn to Shane Vereen and Brandon Bolden to take over the rushing duties for the team. Vereen has a career-high 5.1 yards per carry so far in 2014 and is just 35 rushing yards away from matching his career-best single-season total.
