The St. Louis Rams are off to a fast start against the San Francisco 49ers Monday night, jumping out to a 14-0 lead after one quarter of play. Running back Benny Cunningham ran in the Rams' first touchdown from the 1-yard line, while quarterback Austin Davis connected with Lance Kendricks for St. Louis' second score of the night.
Austin Davis, Rams off to strong start against 49ers
QB Austin Davis is leading a suddenly potent Rams offense Monday night against a 49ers team that is out of sync on both sides of the ball.

The Rams have been able to take advantage of numerous San Francisco penalties, but they've also found a sudden spark in rookie running back Tre Mason, who has already ripped off a couple of big runs. Mason is making his debut after being inactive during the Rams' first four games of the season.
The 49ers have started off completely out of sync, allowing the Rams to pretty much do whatever they want on offense. The San Francisco offense isn't faring much better, with St. Louis shutting them down early. Running back Frank Gore has been held to less than two yards per carry at this point.
