Oakland looks for its first win, but might have trouble against the NFC West leaders.

Without their starting quarterback and several key members on defense, the Cardinals have jumped out to a surprising 4-1 record. Bruce Arians' crew has notched wins against the Chargers, 49ers,and Giants, all with records at or above .500. Now that Carson Palmer has returned to the lineup, Arizona can make an even stronger push for the playoffs.
The Raiders fired head coach Dennis Allen after an 0-4 start. Owner Mark Davis named Tony Sparano as the interim replacement, and while the team remains winless, the results have been better. Oakland stuck with the division-leading Chargers throughout the team's 31-28 loss in Week 6. If Derek Carr plays well again this week, the Raiders could notch their first win.
Having three different quarterbacks taking snaps at various points in the season has hurt the Cardinals' offense. Arizona ranks 28th in per game yards and 19th in points scored a game. That should change now that Palmer is back in the lineup. In his two games this year, Palmer has completed 52 of his 81 passes for 554 yards, four touchdowns and zero picks. Andre Ellington currently sits below 4 yards per carry, but he's also the team's third-most prolific pass catcher with 188 yards and a score.
Carr seemed to take a step forward in his development last week. The rookie attempted more throws downfield, leading to a season-high 8.3 yards per attempt single-game figure. Carr also tossed four touchdowns against only one late-game interception. James Jones and Andre Holmes have preformed well for the Raiders this year; they have three touchdowns each and have combined for 597 receiving yards.
