A fight between former Seattle Seahawks wide receivers Golden Tate and Percy Harvin just prior to Super Bowl XLVIII is considered to be one of the major factors that resulted in the team trading the latter to the New York Jets, and the man who broke the fight up explained what he saw to NFL Network.
Michael Robinson broke up Percy Harvin, Golden Tate fight before Super Bowl
A former Seahawks fullback said he was the one who broke up a pre-Super Bowl fight between Percy Harvin and Golden Tate.

Michael Robinson, who was a fullback for the Seahawks last season but now works for NFL Media, said on Sunday that he saw the fight between Tate and Harvin, and "physically broke it up." However, Robinson was far from ready to point fingers and assign blame, as he said that such fights are common occurrences.
“We kind of talked about it afterwards,” he said. “I talked to Percy and Golden and they ironed their situation out. But again, you’ve been in locker rooms, these type of things happen all the time. Families fight. That is what is so disturbing. Again, this type of information usually doesn’t get out of that locker room. Why it comes out now, almost a year after the Super Bowl is mind-boggling. ”
Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio went into some detail about the fight between the receivers, saying that Harvin “body slammed” Tate at the team hotel hard enough that players initially believed Tate’s neck may have been broken.
Robinson refused to say what was at the root of the fight, as he said he’s “not at liberty to talk about it.”
Harvin had just one reception for five yards in the Super Bowl, while Tate managed three receptions for 17 yards. Tate received a five-year, $31 million deal from the Detroit Lions in March.
