It's possible that Robert Griffin III could return as early as next week. If not, you'd have to think that Colt McCoy, who came off the bench Sunday to lead Washington to just their second victory of the year, will be under center against the Dallas Cowboys.
Colt McCoy replaces Kirk Cousins as RG3 return looms
McCoy came off the bench to lead Washington to a second half comeback and may have locked down a starting spot until Griffin’s return.

Trailing 10-6 after a frustrating offensive half of football against the Tennessee Titans, Washington benched Kirk Cousins and inserted McCoy. A career backup since washing out in Cleveland, McCoy went 11-of-12 for 128 yards and a touchdown to bring his team back for a 19-17 win. He went 5-for-5 while leading the offense 76 yards on the game's final drive, which culminated in a 22-yard field goal as time expired.
McCoy’s very first pass was a 70-yard touchdown to Pierre Garcon that gave Washington its first lead of the game.
Cousins, who some thought had a chance to steal Griffin's starting spot out from under him, continued to struggle. He failed to get the offense into the end zone during the first half and tossed his ninth pick of the season. Fans and media in the nation's capital had begun calling for his benching after last week's three-interception performance against the Arizona Cardinals.
Jay Gruden has said that Griffin will return to the starting job as soon as he’s recovered from his dislocated ankle, but McCoy may be the new man under center until that happens.
Poor Colt. He got called Kirk after the game.
