During his Monday Press conference, Chicago Bears head coach Marc Trestman combated the notion that quarterback Jay Cutler and No. 1 receiver Brandon Marshall were butting heads. Rather, Trestman described the 2014 Bears as a "very close team," according to Marc Sessler of NFL.com.

The quarterback and receiver were reportedly involved in a shouting match after Sunday’s loss to the Dolphins.

After the Chicago Bears' 27-14 loss to the Miami Dolphins Sunday, multiple reports surfaced that Bears teammates were fighting in a tension-filled locker room and that specifically, Marshall took out his frustration by yelling at Cutler. Trestman, however, cautioned against judging players based on their actions immediately following games, noting that his men can get caught up in the moment and emotions of an NFL loss.
The head coach also asserted that Cutler and Marshall have a strong working relationship, describing the two as more like brothers than coworkers:
“As I said last week, the last couple weeks. I said it in here, the dialogue they’ve had in meetings, and on the field, and you could notice it, I don’t see that at all,” Trestman said of a potential conflict. “They’ve been around each other for a long time. I think there’s a brotherly love involved in their relationship. That’s the way I see it.”
Still, the fact that the Bears’ starting quarterback and top receiver have an up-and-down relationship may not be conducive to a winning environment. After the team losing three of its last four games, that’s a concern in Chicago.
