Former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice officially filed a grievance against his former team, citing wrongful termination, per a report.

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Rice is expected to cite the NFL’s Collective Bargaining Agreement, which states a player can only be punished once for an infraction.
Rice was released by the Ravens and suspended by the league after being caught on video assaulting his then-fiance Janay Palmer. Rice was originally suspended two games by the NFL on July 24, but public outcry caused the league to backpedal not long after. After the full video was released on Sept. 8, the Ravens released Rice that afternoon.
Rice also filed an appeal against his indefinite suspension from the league in September, which will be heard on Nov. 5 and 6. It’s unknown whether NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will attend the appeal hearing.
