The Minnesota Vikings and Tampa Bay Buccaneers have not seen their seasons go according to plan. Once NFC Central rivals, the Vikings and Buccaneers have hit hard times under first-year head coaches who have both dealt with quarterback injuries. Minnesota has started three quarterbacks while Tampa Bay is on its second, and not surprisingly the teams are 2-5 and 1-5, respectively.

Two struggling teams try to get on the right track before it’s too late to make a playoff push.

Minnesota can at least take solace in watching its future franchise quarterback get reps. Teddy Bridgewater received his third career start against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday and almost escaped with a victory before the Bills scored on the final play. Bridgewater struggled against a solid Buffalo defense, throwing two interceptions and completing just 57.7 percent of his passes, his lowest mark yet. But in Bridgewater's defense, he was sacked five times and pressured every time he dropped back.
Tampa Bay is coming off its bye, a much-needed week to get away following a complete debacle against the Baltimore Ravens. Baltimore led 38-0 in the first half and coasted the rest of the way, making it the second game this season in which the Buccaneers have trailed by 38 or more points. The defense has been horrifying, allowing a league-worst 294.5 passing yards per game.
Luckily for Tampa Bay, the Vikings have the NFL's least potent passing attack. Offensively, Mike Glennon has been average, completing 57 percent of his passes with two 300-yard games.
