Chicago looks to put talks of a locker room split to bed with a win over the Patriots.

After a fast start to the 2014 season that included an upset of the San Francisco 49ers, the Bears have dropped three of their last four games including a trouncing at the hands of the division rival Green Bay Packers. Jay Cutler has become a turnover machine, while the receiver duo of Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery hasn't dominated opponents like Chicago hoped. While it won't solve all their issues, a win this week would put to bed many of the questions regarding the stability of the team's locker room.
The Patriots, meanwhile, have found their groove after a slow start. Tom Brady, left for dead three weeks into the season, has been among the league's best players since. As a result, the team has won all of its games over that span by a combined 107-64. Week 8 isn't a must win for New England, but a victory over Chicago would insulate the team before it faces the Denver Broncos next week.
While the Chicago offense has sputtered, Matt Forte has remained remarkably effective. He leads all Bears players in receptions with 52 and rushing yards with 448. Meanwhile, Jay Cutler has thrown far too many interceptions of late. In his last four games, he has been picked off five times. Over the same span, Cutler has tossed just six touchdowns.
Three weeks have passed since Tom Brady's last interception. The future Hall of Famer has been nearly flawless of late, completing 64.2 percent of his passes for nine touchdowns since the start of Week 5. His top pass catcher, Rob Gronkowski, is slowly rounding into form. In his last three appearances, the tight end averaged more than 87 yards per game and has multiple plays of 20 or more yards.
With Chicago trailing the leaders in the NFC North by two games and New England up only a game on the Buffalo Bills in the AFC East, there’s plenty at stake for both teams.
