The Chicago Bears went into halftime down 38-7 to the New England Patriots. The half was remarkable for a lot of reasons. Let us count the ways:
Bears just played the worst first half in franchise history
Statistically and figuratively speaking.

-- The Pats’ 38 points were the most ever posted on a Bears team in the first half of a game.
-- The Patriots’ final 21 points of the first half came within a 57-second span late in the second quarter.
-- The final touchdown came on a Jay Cutler fumble return for a touchdown by Rob Ninkovich. The turnover was Cutler's 11th of the season in 7.5 games played. His 12th came on the Bears' next possession when a Hail Mary intended for Brandon Marshall was intercepted at the goal line.
-- Speaking of Marshall, the big wideout was targeted three times and came away with zero receptions.
-- That's in stark contrast to Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, who has eight receptions for 103 yards and two scores already. His quarterback, Tom Brady, has a 146.5 passer rating after going 18-for-21 for 203 yards and four touchdowns.
-- Oh yeah, this comes a week after the Bears showed their seams after a loss to the Miami Dolphins in a heated post-game locker room.
Not good Chicago.
