Jerry Jones rushes to Cowboys sideline to deliver Tony Romo injury update
You don’t often see an NFL owner shuttle from the suite level to the locker room to his head coach on the sideline.
Jones told ESPN’s Lisa Salters that Romo was in the locker room telling the doctors that he still wanted to play in the game. We don’t yet have an update on whether Romo will be cleared, but Jones made sure head coach Jason Garrett was aware of all that was happening back in the locker room. Jones is about the only owner in the game who might do this, but he walked straight up to his head coach to (likely) provide the injury report. Our amateur lip reading efforts can only determine that he’s talking about Romo.
And it looks like Jones will stay at the field level for the rest of the fourth quarter. He watched Brandon Weeden lead the offense down the field for a game-tying touchdown mid-way through the final quarter, and was particularly jubilant after DeMarco Murray busted 23-yard gain on a screen pass.
