The Dallas Cowboys are off to a surprising 6-2 start this season, and the biggest contributor to that has been running back DeMarco Murray. Through eight games, Murray has rushed for an NFL-leading 1,054 yards and seven touchdowns, giving Dallas the top rushing offense in the league.
DeMarco Murray won’t change running style despite fumbling issues
DeMarco Murray is putting the ball on the ground more than he should be, but the Cowboys running back isn’t about to change his ways.

However, Murray’s also fumbled the ball five times, and all of them resulted in a turnover. Most recently, Murray fumbled in the second quarter of Dallas’ Week 8 loss to Washington, a game that was decided by just three points in overtime. The turnover didn’t lead to Washington points, but it did prevent a Dallas scoring drive. The Cowboys had driven to the Washington 10-yard line before Murray coughed up the ball.
Murray, though, doesn’t seem to think his fumbles are an issue, via the Dallas Morning News.
“I’m going to continue to play hard and fight for every inch,” Murray said. “It happened. I just got to lock two hands on it.”
Despite the fumble, Murray accounted for more than 200 total yards against Washington, with 141 on the ground and a team-high 80 yards receiving. Now in his fourth NFL season, Murray is in the final year of his rookie contract, and he’s doing his best to make sure his next deal pays him handsomely and that the fumbles don’t cost him, or his team, in the long run.
