If you had the Arizona Cardinals as the last undefeated NFC team before the season began, you are a smarter person than most of us. Heading into Week 5, the Cardinals are sitting atop the NFC West at 3-0, despite Drew Stanton starting for Carson Palmer in two of the victories. Now, Stanton will lead his troops into their toughest mission yet, on the road against the Denver Broncos.
Cardinals vs. Broncos 2014 picks and predictions: Experts mostly with Denver at home
Arizona has the better record, but the perception is Denver will romp while facing a backup quarterback in its backyard.

Denver is 2-1 with its lone loss coming to the Seattle Seahawks. Most of the experts around the country believe the Broncos are better than Arizona, especially with the setting in the Rocky Mountains. At USA Today, all seven experts went with the home team, while every CBS analyst picked the Broncos with three seeing the Cardinals covering the 7.5-point spread.
Over at ESPN, we do find two Arizona supporters out of 13, with Merril Hoge and Mike Ditka believing the Cardinals will remain undefeated. As for our guys at SB Nation, Ryan Van Bibber has gone out on a limb and went with Arizona to pull off the upset. The other six men all went safe and took the Broncos, believing they will improve to 3-1 in their chase of the AFC West-leading San Diego Chargers. All their other picks can be seen here.
A milestone will likely be reached in this game, with Peyton Manning only one touchdown pass short of 500. Only Brett Favre has ever hit that plateau, as the three-time MVP finished his career with 508.
All-time, the Broncos are 7-1-1 against the Cardinals, although Arizona won their most-recent contest 43-13 in 2010.
