Reggie Wayne's status for Monday night against the New York Giants is still up in the air, but the Indianapolis Colts got some positive news on Friday. For the first time since going down with an elbow injury two weeks ago, the veteran wide receiver was a full participant in practice, according to the team's website.
Reggie Wayne, Ryan Mathews return to practice
The injury news isn’t as good for Jordan Cameron and Doug Martin.

The Colts said they will continue to evaluate Wayne to determine if he’s ready to return to action. Because they play on Monday, they have one more practice on Saturday this week.
Wayne watched from the sidelines last week as his team was routed by the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Colts got a big day from rookie Donte Moncrief, but are clearly eager to get Wayne back.
“It makes all the difference,” Colts offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton said Friday. “We just finished our third-down practice and having Reggie Wayne available makes it a lot easier for the quarterback. Find Reggie and find a way to get him the ball.”
Mathews back at Chargers practice
The San Diego Chargers got some good news of their own. Starting running back Ryan Mathews returned to the practice field on Friday, the first time he's done so since Week 2, according to Michael Gehlken of U-T San Diego.
Mathews won't be back from his knee injury in time to play against the Miami Dolphins this Sunday, but he could be back in the lineup once San Diego returns from its Week 10 bye. He was limited in practice on Friday.
“He’s getting close,” head coach Mike McCoy said.
The Chargers are expected to get at least part of their battered running back corps back this week. Donald Brown, who's missed time with a concussion, is listed as probable for Sunday.
Cameron ruled out for Week 9
Fans in Cleveland are probably too delirious over the return of another notable athlete to care, but the Browns will have to go without Jordan Cameron for another week. The tight end has been ruled out against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after suffering his third concussion in the last two seasons, according to Mary Kay Cabot of The Plain Dealer.
Coach Mike Pettine left open the possibility of Cameron returning next Thursday against the Cincinnati Bengals but refused to speculate on Cameron's longterm future.
“I don’t think it’s appropriate to do it right at this time when it’s still fresh and (he’s) recovering from it,” said Pettine. “We’ll see how long it takes and the severity of this one. If that’s something we need to address we will.”
Martin misses Bucs practice
On Friday, Doug Martin missed his third practice of the week. On Sunday, he'll likely miss his third game of the season.
Martin was a no-show at practice, according to Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times, and is listed as doubtful against the Browns. Bobby Rainey, who is averaging 4.6 yards per carry this season, will likely get the start against a struggling Cleveland run defense.
