The NFC East was supposed to be a fun jaunt for the Philadelphia Eagles this season, an easy stroll until the playoffs began according to most who cover the league. Instead, it appears the division is back to its difficult ways, with both the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants appearing to be strong contenders. Philadelphia might take the crown, but it won't be without a fight.
Rams vs. Eagles 2014 picks and predictions: Philadelphia the overwhelming choice
After dropping their first game of the season, many see the Eagles bouncing back in a big way against the Rams.

Coming into Week 5, the Eagles are 3-1 and tied atop the division with the Cowboys, while leading the Giants by a game. They welcome the St. Louis Rams into Lincoln Financial Field, a team sitting at 1-2 after a bye week. St. Louis has decided to go with quarterback Austin Davis for the remainder of the year, starting him over veteran Shaun Hill. Davis has been excellent in his second year out of Southern Miss, completing 72.3 percent of his passes with three touchdowns in as many games.
At USA Today, all seven analysts took the Eagles to win with Tom Pelissero and Jarrett Bell naming Philadelphia as their lock of the week. It is also a clean sweep with the men of Yahoo, both siding with the favored home team. Merril Hoge is the only one of 13 experts at ESPN.com to go with the Rams, believing Jeff Fisher’s team can pull off the upset.
Here at SB Nation, only Danny Kelly took a chance with St. Louis. Kelly writes for Field Gulls, our Seattle Seahawks blog, so perhaps he sees something in the Rams that most are missing. For all of SB Nation's picks, click here.
St. Louis has not beaten the Eagles since 2004, losing the three matchups since. For Philadelphia to get back on track, LeSean McCoy and the offensive line must play better. Over the past two weeks against Washington and the 49ers, McCoy has rushed for a combined 39 yards on 29 carries.
