The Seattle Seahawks are performing below standards on defense. Last season, Seattle had arguably one of the best defenses of all-time, but things have been uneven through three games in 2014. The Seahawks will try to get back on track against Washington and Kirk Cousins, who is coming off a five-turnover performance against the New York Giants.
Seahawks vs. Washington 2014 picks and predictions: Defending champs get love on MNF
Seattle is coming off a bye week and looking to get an important win over a struggling Washington team.

Seattle started great against the Packers on opening night, limiting the explosive Packers to 16 points. However, Philip Rivers and the Chargers lit up the Seahwaks' secondary for 30 points, handing the defending champs their first loss of the season. In Week 3, the Broncos only scored 20 points but went on a game-tying drive of six plays and 80 yards in 41 seconds to force overtime.
On the other side, Washington is a mess at 1-3. Under first-year head coach Jay Gruden, Washington has struggled to stop good offenses, allowing 37 points against the Eagles before surrendering 45 to the Giants. Cousins has certainly been promising, but suffered a meltdown last Thursday, throwing four interceptions and losing a fumble. With Robert Griffin out for the foreseeable future, Cousins needs to step up if Washington hopes to get back into the NFC East race.
Here at SB Nation, only PFT Commenter believes Washington will be able to beat the Seahawks. The other six all rolled with Seattle, including Danny Kelly, who sees the Seahawks on a daily basis as the head writer for our Seattle blog, Field Gulls.
Over at ESPN.com, the Seahawks are the unanimous pick for all 13 experts to improve to 3-1. Seattle is also being picked by the eight analysts of CBS Sports to take care of Washington under the lights, with all believing the Seahawks will cover the 7.5-point spread. In the Chicago Tribune, long-time writer Sam Farmer is taking Seattle, 28-16.
