On Monday night, the Seattle Seahawks will travel to take on Washington in the final game of Week 5. Washington is reeling after two consecutive losses in the NFC East to the Eagles and Giants, allowing a combined 82 points.
Seahawks vs. Washington 2014 live stream: Time, TV schedule and how to watch online
Seattle tries to continue its climb in the NFC West while Washington looks desperately to halt its losing streak.

The Seahawks are a considerable road-favorite, heading into the contest with a 8.5-point nod, according to OddsShark. Seattle plays in perhaps in the toughest division in football, featuring an improved Arizona Cardinals team along with the always tough San Francisco 49ers. Defense is once again the Seahawks' strength. Seattle has been able to dominate on the ground and against the run, ranking third and fifth respectively in yardage per game coming into Week 5.
This contest marks the beginning of a stretch where the Seahawks go on the road for three of four weeks. Seattle heads home next week to face the Cowboys before trips to face the Rams and Panthers. It has been well-documented that the Seahawks are a better team at home, but they have been stout on the road as well recently. Seattle is 6-3 in its last nine road games. The Seahawks have been especially strong when playing on Monday night, winning their last eight. Russell Wilson tossed seven touchdowns and no interceptions in three career starts on Monday Night Football.
Washington will likely rely on Alfred Morris to keep this game within reach for a possible upset. Morris is fifth in the NFL in rushing yards with 316, averaging 4.5 yards per carry. Morris is capable of shouldering the load, but needs help from quarterback Kirk Cousins and his receivers. Tight end Niles Paul leads Washington in receiving yards with 313, but he is a game-time decision after sustaining a concussion in the loss to New York. DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon give Washington a pair of outside threats, but they will have a tough matchup against the serious Seattle secondary. Teams have targeted Byron Maxwell and tried to avoid Richard Sherman this season. Whether Washington attempts to do the same could impact what role Garcon and Jackson each play. Garcon and Sherman have a bit of a history dating back to the 2012 postseason.
Defensively, Ryan Kerrigan leads the way with five sacks, tied with Justin Houston for the league lead heading into the week. Kerrigan has not had much help around him, with only Jason Hatcher (2.5) having more than one sack for Washington. Jay Gruden's squad has had a tough time getting off the field on third down, ranking 18th at 46.3 percent. Washington's strength has been against the run, limiting teams to 3.3 yards per carry, fifth-best in the NFL. That could be a key area to watch against Seattle with the Seahawks offense going as far as Marshawn Lynch and the ground attack take them.
