The ankle issue that Calvin Johnson has played through the last two weeks is clearly affecting him, to the point that Detroit Lions head coach Jim Caldwell is thinking long and hard about resting him on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.
Jim Caldwell ‘strongly’ considering resting Calvin Johnson against Vikings
Reports indicate the Lions star could miss up to two weeks as he recovers from a pesky ankle injury.

“I thought about (sitting him) last week, and just looking at him and certainly being straightforward, I’m going to think about it again this week -- strongly,” Caldwell told MLive.com. “So we’ll see.”
Peter King of mmqb.com reports that Johnson could miss "a week or two" as he tries to get over the injury.
In the last two games, the star wideout has played just 65 snaps and has three catches for 19 yards. He aggravated the injury in Sunday's loss to the Buffalo Bills, limping off the field in the third quarter after his first and only reception of the game. He was unable to return.
The success of free-agent acquisition Golden Tate gives Caldwell a bit more flexibility in resting Johnson. With Megatron hampered, Tate has caught 15 passes for 250 yards and one touchdown over the last two weeks.
