The Seattle Seahawks went on the road and defeated Washington 27-17 on Monday Night Football, but Richard Sherman is not happy. The All-Pro corner is furious with Washington receiver Pierre Garcon, who he claims pulled his hair during their battles throughout the night.
Richard Sherman says Pierre Garcon ‘doesn’t matter in this league’
Sherman did not appreciate Garcon’s tactics to free himself, and let it be known with some harsh comments.

Sherman did his usual terrific job against Garcon, holding him to only two catches for 23 yards. Garcon failed to make much of an impact, something Washington head coach Jay Gruden seemed fine with considering he continually put Garcon against Sherman, who never changes his alignment defensively. Washington clearly wanted DeSean Jackson on Byron Maxwell, and Jackson shined with 157 yards and a touchdown.
Following the game, Sherman unloaded on Garcon when asked about the seventh-year receiver, per JP Finlay of CSN Washington:
“Pierre doesn’t matter in this league,” Sherman said. Asked to clarify his comments, Sherman replied, “I mean exactly what I said.”
“Yeah,” Sherman said when asked if Garçon pulled his hair. “Pierre did a few things. When you can’t get open, you got to do whatever you can. The crowd is acting like I’m holding him. Obviously the TV copy you can see what happened.”
In the Vine below, it appears Garcon does yank substantially on Sherman’s long dreadlocks. No penalty was called on the play.
Despite Sherman’s claims, Garcon is one of the better receivers in the NFL recently. Last year, Garcon eclipsed 1,000 yards for the first time in his career with 1,346, good enough for eighth in the league.
