The AFC South didn’t promise to be an elite division in 2014, and it has looked every bit as underwhelming as most expected. So much so, that only one team in the division will have a winning record following Week 6, as the two teams at the top will battle to avoid dropping to 3-3 on Thursday.
‘Thursday Night Football’ 2014 live stream: How to watch Colts vs. Texans online
The Colts and Texans sit in a tie atop the AFC South standings and will look to break that tie on Thursday night.

For the Indianapolis Colts, an improvement to 4-2 would mean a fourth consecutive win for a team that has been an offensive juggernaut since starting 0-2. After four combined turnovers in losses to the Denver Broncos and Philadelphia Eagles, the Colts posted an average of 483 yards and 35 points over the next three games and now have the NFL's highest-scoring offense.
To keep that momentum going, the Colts will have to find success against a Houston Texans defense that has done as well as any at capitalizing on mistakes. No team has forced more turnovers than the Texans, and that has helped the defense to rank fourth in points allowed, despite allowing the seventh-most yards.
The struggle for the Texans has been on the offensive side of the ball, where they have struggled to find rhythm or success. Houston has only tallied more than 23 points once this season, against the Oakland Raiders.
With the Jacksonville Jaguars (0-5) and Tennessee Titans (1-4) sitting at the bottom of the division, the Thursday night matchup will go a long way in deciding supremacy in what may be the NFL’s weakest division.
